The expansion and renovation of Drew Memorial Hospital, accomplished in part with USDA Rural Development funding, adds significant new capacity to a 40-year-old facility. The 51,000-square-foot addition includes a new Surgical Suite with four operating rooms, two C-Section suites, and a specialty care center for visiting physicians. The new women’s center aims to position the system as a regional birthing leader of southeastern Arkansas. The renovation included an expanded laboratory in place of the former labor/delivery suite.
Through this project, the Drew Memorial was able to grow from a rural county hospital into a comprehensive health system, bringing world-class medical care close to those in Drew County and surrounding communities.
